IWW: SOLIDARITY STATEMENT FOR SOMA

We are shocked about the reaction of officials regarding to the recent disaster in Soma. 301 miners died in a tragedy that happened in the absence of labor safety.

In mines around the world we experience the same soft handling of workers life in order to gain maximal profit. The deadly catastrophe itself is a tragedy for miners and for their families and friends.

The government’s reaction is unacceptable and the rood activities against the comprehensible anger of survivors and those who show solidarity are shameful and inhumane.

We stand with the workers fighting for revenge for the unforgivable lack of fulfilling the least demands for work. We stand in solidarity with every miner in the face of the same experience.
